Happy New Year!
Happy St. Valentine's Day!

This issue of the Rowena Cherry newsletter covers January and February... and I'm writing it in the last days of December. Astoundingly (at least, to me) one day after Christmas, some shops already had Valentines Day decorations for sale.

I was out buying the 50% and 70% off Holiday tree ribbons and bows. I hope to transform last year's alien wedding dress costume (worn at the Romantic Times Faery Ball) from the very tasteful, silver and black one that Djinni-vera wore into something more "Martia-Djulia" (pronounced Marsha Julia).

Utterly enthralling

A year ago Tarrant-Arragon wouldn't believe he was going to set his sister up... I loved this book, and I know Insufficient Mating Material is a book you will not want to miss either.
~ Rose, Romanceatheart.com

A Sizzling Passion

INSUFFICIENT MATING MATERIAL is a powerful romance laced with devastating family secrets, treachery and a sizzling passion hot enough to singe your fingers as you turn the pages ... Ms. Cherry has become an auto-buy author for me.
~ Billie Jo, Romance Junkies

"Hot and captivating..."

This is a book that you won't put down until the end.
~Cy Korte of Ebookisle

Care to take on a god?

What is it like, exactly, when two gods go head to head?
Stellar wit, wonderful characters and amazing research into basic and not so basic survival techniques make for a very real and relatable environment for the prince and princess. This was without a doubt one of my favorite reads of 2006!
~ Kenda Montgomery, Author of Mysterious Ways, Official Reviewer for The Mystic Castle.

Djust Great!!!

We drooled over Prince Djetthro-Jason before and now Rowena Cherry has written his story—one that was definitely worth the wait! In her typical fashion, Ms. Cherry combines sex, action, love, and adventure into one terrific story. Did I say sex? Whoowee!.... I'll bet you'll want to read her other books once you've read this one.
~Jacquie Rogers

Utterly brilliant,

Martia-Djulia had a wild night with Tiger prince Djetthro-Jason, the perfect
lover. Only now she is being forced to wed this "insufficient" weakling? Faced
with no options, she flees the public mating ceremony, only to be stranded on a
desert isle. Complications abound, as someone is clearly out to kill the
princess and her hunk of insufficient mating material, who bears a remarkable
tattoo that may give the whole game away!

In movies, very rarely do sequels ever achieve the brilliance, the spontaneity
of the original. That is precisely what Cherry does with this wickedly funny,
tongue-through cheek tale...Cherry now stands on the cusp of inheriting the title as queen in this category.

~Deborah MacGillivray "Author of A Restless Knight; The Invasion of Falgannon Isle" (Scotland, England & US) http://www.myspace.com/deborahmacgillivray
http://deborahmacgillivray.co.uk

A sexy, funny adventure story, and informative, too.

...pure perfection with some terrifically funny dialogs between the pampered princess and one sexually frustrated Prince Jetthro who was honor bound not to reveal his identity. Clearly Martia-Djulia was not cut out for "roughing it" without her creature comforts and Djetthro-Jason was not about to let her off easy.
~Marilyn Rondeau – Reviewers International Organization (RIO)

This is a terrific science fiction romance in which the world building is so stupendous readers will believe they are visiting an alien landscape with different societal values and norms. The action-packed story line focuses on two manipulated individuals with pasts that make both vulnerable .... With her Tigran Empire tales, Rowena Cherry is staking a claim as the Empress of heated science fiction romantic thriller.
~Harriet Klausner, Alternate Worlds

"Spunky" isn't often used to describe older heroines, but everything good about the word is perfect for Martia-Djulia, who acts as a wonderful foil to Djetth's unconventional courtship in this sequel to Forced Mate (2004).

Prince Djetthro-Jason (all royal Djinn Dj- prefixes are pronounced as if the D were not there... eg, Jethro-Jason) was the "rival" if not quite "the villain" in FORCED MATE after his fiancée, Djinni-vera (Jinny) was abducted by Prince Tarrant-Arragon.

Tigron Empire of the Djinn
ARK IMPERIAL, Operating Theater

Damn them! Prince Djetthro-Jason eyed the masked males and the unpleasant array of implements they were preparing to use on him.

I haven't told them everything, and I'm not about to. No way am I going to invite anyone to take a laser to my privates. Ahhh, Fewmet!

The "battlefield analgesia" was wearing off. During the duel that he'd begun as Commander Jason and ended—defeated—as Prince Djetthro-Jason, he'd felt almost no pain despite the damage Tarrant-Arragon had inflicted.

Now, his massively bruised thigh throbbed heavily, his neck muscles ached, and his jaw...it hurt even to think about his jaw. Perhaps worse—but less so by the moment—was the damage to his alpha-male machismo as he lay strapped down, stark naked, in his enemy's operating theater, preparing his mind for surgery without anesthetic. Also for "the fate worse than death" which was to come.

If Tarrant-Arragon had observed Great Djinn tradition, the duel they'd fought less than an hour ago ought to have been to the death.

Why hadn't Tarrant-Arragon killed him then and there? To the victor went the Empire, the Ark Imperial, and gods-Right to any female he wanted...and they both wanted the same female.

Damn it! Even if he wanted to stop, I should've fought on after he crippled my leg and shattered my bloody jaw. Why didn't I? What's left for me?

What indeed?

I'll be the Djinn equivalent of a broken thoroughbred stallion put out to stud. It's fairly obvious why Tarrant-Arragon made an excuse not to finish me off.

The Great Djinn were nearly extinct. In twenty years' time, Tarrant-Arragon's and Djinni-vera's children would need true-Djinn mates, all entitled to the silent D-prefix to their royal Djinn names. That's why!

When the "fate worse than death" had been spelled out, it had been sheer bravado to mumble that he wanted to marry Princess Martia-Djulia.

Maybe I do. Maybe I don't.

It hurt how much he still wanted Djinni-vera, who'd been the last Djinn virgin in all the Communicating Worlds, and betrothed to be his, until Tarrant-Arragon abducted her by force and took her virginity.

What consolation would it be to have Tarrant-Arragon's sexy, fashionista bitch of a sister in his power and in his bed instead?

Djetth winced at the savagery of his thoughts about Martia-Djulia. Shards of pain shot along his broken jawline.

"Well, Djetthro-Jason, are you ready to be carved up for your new identity and your new life as my little sister's glorified love slave?"

From somewhere out of Djetth's line of sight, Tarrant-Arragon taunted him, stressing the part of Djetth's real name that he'd used until his cover as "Commander Jason" was blown and he was overpowered and arrested.

Djetth did not turn his head. The pain in his face and head was intolerable enough without moving.

"Ahhh, I do believe that Our Imperial surgeons are ready to do away with that distinctive jagged scar on your cheek," Tarrant-Arragon crooned. "And screw together your jaw."

What else might they do while he was under the laser and the knife? While his face was open, might they carve out a sensory gland or two? Implant a tracking device? Use his broken jaw as an excuse to weld a mask over his head?

Prince Djetthro-Jason would be a latter-day "Man in the Iron Mask" if they realized how closely he resembled Crown Prince Tarrant-Arragon. Which he would, without his scars, his colorful contact lenses and his long, blond-dyed hair.

Djetth glanced at the treacherous, turncoat 'Rhett, who'd been his bloody useless "second" at the duel, and who was still hanging around.

What for? Damn him. 'Rhett was too much the intergalactic statesman for his own—or anyone else's—good.

If the patient lost consciousness, Tarrant-Arragon could decide that the chances for galactic peace would be better if Djetthro-Jason were neutered...one way or another. Given the secrets 'Rhett knew, 'Rhett might agree.

"No—" Djetth groaned with the unexpected agony of trying to speak. He wanted to refuse anesthetic again. How he wished there was somebody present who he could trust!

A door swished open.

"Does he have to be in such pain?" The cause of all the trouble spoke from the doorway. She sounded on edge, as if she felt his pain telepathically.

Djinni-vera! No longer his Djinni. By conquest, by the irrevocable exchange of vows, and finally by her own choice, she was Tarrant-Arragon's.

By All the Lechers of Antiquity, how he loved her! At that moment. For coming. Mentally Djetth qualified his thoughts. Djinni-vera might not love him now, but she was honorable to the core. Tarrant-Arragon wouldn't dare do anything dastardly in front of her.

As she glided to his surgical table, Djetth looked at her wildly, helplessly, with mute appeal, hoping that she would read his mind and aid him this one last time.

Djinni-vera's amethyst eyes widened as if she had Heard him and understood. Her gaze averted, she reached out and dropped a gauzy white cloth of some sort over his monstrously inappropriate erection.

To others, her action might have looked like public modesty on her part. Djetth assumed that Djinni had read the part of his mind that was worrying about the striking tattoo that only showed up in the dark or when he was suitably excited.

Thank you, he thought. Please help me. Stay.

She nodded, and took his fettered hand with her undamaged left. "You've been macho about this too long, J-J. Why won't you let them put you to sleep?"

"Careful, my love," Tarrant-Arragon said, moving possessively to her side. "You can never call him J-J again. Nor may you use any of his other damned traitor's aliases. Not J-J, not Commander Jason. Traitors cannot be seen to survive their attempts on my life. Commander Jason is officially dead, and everyone—including Martia-Djulia—must believe it. From this day forward, he's Prince Djetthro-Jason."

"What a mouthful..." Djinni began; then her changing expression told him that she must have read a thought-pun he couldn't resist. "Djetth!"

She frowned sternly.

"I know you Great Djinn males can't help thinking of sex all the time. But it's not helpful, Djetth. As long as you have your saturniid gland, you're dangerous."

Not dangerous to you, kid. You won't ovulate while you're pregnant, and probably not for a while after that, he thought back at her.

Her mouth twisted in a wry smile.

"You'd be safer if you let them remove it."

Some aspects of Royal Djinn maleness one would rather die than surrender, he rejoined, hoping she would not read his darker thoughts.

"Martia-Djulia would be better off if you couldn't have the rut-rage again, too..." As she spoke, Djinni tossed her head as if shaking off a bothersome fly.

Djetth wondered if Djinni had unexpectedly Channeled someone else's reasoning. Djinni couldn't possibly know how savagely Martia-Djulia liked to be served in bed.

"I saw Palace footage of you having the rut-rage with Martia-Djulia." The little mind-reader's voice rose in protest at the thought he hadn't meant her to sense.

You saw? You saw what, exactly? His thought question was a ploy to distract her from thinking about the rut-rage, but no sooner had he asked than he dreaded how detailed her reply might be.

Insufficient Mating Material will be released in bookstores on January 30th 2007.

lennel

This issue, I'm really lucky to have had the chance to talk with Lennell Dunbar, who was the Romantic Times BOOKClub's Mr Romance in 2003, and is a successful cover model for Kensington as well as a hot new recording artist with a new hit record, "Over You".

~ ~ ~

RC: Let's talk about your astounding success as a cover model. When did you decide that you'd like to try modeling, and what —or who— inspired you?

LENNELL: I decided at a young age that I wanted to try modeling and acting. My passion has always been music. I'm fortunate to have a well-rounded career in entertainment that allows me to delve into different areas. I'm also a master electrician, have a degree in audio/visual and have been in the entertainment field for some time.

RC: Can you remember the first or all important interview? How did you feel?

LENNELL: Funny you should ask. One never realizes which interviews are going to impact their career until it's published. They are all important. The interview for Romantic Times' Mr. Romance contest is the one that is remembered the most. A special thank you to all that voted for me, I'm still living the dream.

My all time favorite interview was with Roy "Royalty" Hamilton, my music producer. I'm sitting in the home of a multi-platinum selling artist/Producer and he wanted to work with me on my CD. You never forget a moment like that "EVER".

Lennell

RC: Which is the most memorable RT convention you've been to, and why?

LENNELL: Each convention has it's own personality. My first RT convention was 2003/2004 in Kansas City when I won the Mr Romance title. It's great to meet with the fans and get to know them as well as the authors. I like to be in touch with people, you never know who will influence your life's path. It was in Kansas City that I met my manager and Executive Producer, Diane Duff. I also met Kathryn Falk, the founder of Romantic Times Bookreviews Magazine, at that convention, she's a fantastic lady and has helped me a lot in my career.

RC: What is a cover shoot like?

LENNELL: Cover shoots are busy, how busy depends on how many covers you are shooting on a particular day. Definitely it's a learning experience each time. Photography is an art that needs to capture the subject as well as the setting and mood. Authors know how they want their characters portrayed, you have to get it all into one shot.

RC: What is a cover shoot like? Which is your favorite book cover?

LENNELL: My favorite cover to date is Cassie Edwards, Savage Obsession. Being a Native American, I felt that it was an authentic cover.

Savage

RC: Have you ever been in movies?

LENNELL: I appeared in Charlie's Angels 2 and Scrubs. In Charlie's Angels 2, you can see me in the motocross scenes.

RC: What is the funniest thing that ever happened?

LENNELL: The funniest thing that ever happened? I would have to say after you've been on the set all day and night, you reach the point of being overtired and everyone gets a little punchy and giddy. You know, the moments that are so amusing that you can't keep a straight face and have to do a re-take.

RC: And, now you're making music videos, too. What does the general public not know about the making of music videos?

LENNELL: Making music videos is hard work. Hours of rehearsal, set-up, performance and then to the editing room. When the final product is ready for release, it all pays off.

Lennell

RC: I first heard about "Over You" when you posted a message on the MySpace bulletin board:

Dec 29, 2006 2:57 AM
Hot New Solo Artist " Lennell " Needs Your Help!
Hot New Single Playing on the Radio Station Now! "OVER YOU"
Please CALL In & REQUEST IT NOW!
98.7 The Beat - 304.344.9870 or Wild 96.7 - 260.969.0963
Or
E-request line http://www.wild963.com/form.php?form_id=2
If You Do An E-Request Please Use Zip Code 46819 —

Tell us about this? How did the calling in go?

LENNELL: Hi Rowena, well, we were doing a test market on my singles "Over You" & " You Are ", it was sent out to the radio station to the program Director for feedback on my songs. We wanted to see if my style of music would fit their listeners' needs and hopefully I could get a commitment from the Program Director to play my music on the air.

They heard the song "OVER YOU" and immediately wanted to put it on the radio! WOW, that was a dream come true for me.

RC: Is it too late to call in and request it?

LENNELL: You can still call and request the song as many times as you want.

RC: Does it help if your fans call in more than once?

LENNELL: At least ten times a day would be good (wink) http://www.wild963.com/form.php?form_id=2
98.7 The Beat - 304.344.9870 or Wild 96.7 - 260.969.0963

Lennell

RC: What sort of response did your MySpace bulletin get?

LENNELL: Rowena, The response to the bulletin was overwhelming. From my Romance Fans to my Myspace Friends. I want to thank everyone for taking the time to call in. All my mailboxes are full and the phone lines lit up at the Radio Station.

I called in a few times myself and asked the person at the request line, after I requested my own song, (wink) how many people called in, they told me they had 1000s of calls for the song "OVER YOU".

The song is doing great & climbing the charts, but I have more great new I just worked out a deal with Roy "Royalty" Hamilton, Roy has been involved with hugely successful projects: Britney Spears. Roy has joined forces with use to make this project a success, a HIT CD.

All reviews have been positive and thumbs up. The beautiful ladies at The Romance Zone, Jai and Tammy always have been there for me and my career. They are professional and have a great following. I always stop by to say hello and they keep up to date with industry news. Jai and Tammy dedicate a lot of their time to the romance industry, authors and cover models and I think they do a fantastic job.

Lennell

RC: You have a very sweet voice! How would you describe your singing voice/style/genre?

LENNELL: Thank you for the compliment, nice of you to say. I have four years of opera training, and one year of POP/R&B training so that helps . So I took the two style = parts, added a pinch of British POP and that's me. Hehehe "OK" . Being in the romance industry has opened my eyes to sensuality.

I sing the songs from the heart with the smooth, sultry and sensual tones. I felt there was a great need for true love songs, like the days when Teddy Pendergrass, Luther Vandross, Brian McKnight, had the air waves. So I decided to mix the two sounds together and came up with POP/R&B Cross Over. Songs that people could relate their own lives to. Thanks to gifted authors like you, I have some amazing material.

RC: Who influenced you as a new voice in music?

LENNELL: I love all music from all walks of life, all styles. I don't even have to understand the words in the music, as long as the music is good. I can hear the words.

I have learned one thing from the entertainment Industry, it is that you must be GOOD, TALENTED, & YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN STYLE or you won't make it. Who influenced? I would have to say myself, because that's all I know and want to be.

Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of incredible musicians out there with their own style, but I have my own style!

Lennell

RC: Are you still modeling?

LENNELL: I still model for romance. I spend my time writing and recording music. I'll be spotlighted next month on www.Bluri.com. Stop by and check it out if you can. We're also planning a U.S. Tour. Things are happening fast and I couldn't be happier.

RC: Does there come a time when a guy gets tired of working out? How much of a bore/a pain is the kind of gym time necessary to maintain a cover model body?

LENNELL: I love what I do and everything about it. I love looking good and it makes me feel good when I look my best. I like to change to up from time to time with outdoor activities such as surfing, biking and skiing, it's all fun. Maintaining the "cover" body is part of the business.

RC: What are your goals for the future (professionally)? What have I not asked that you'd like to share with my 2,500 readers?

LENNELL: The world is mine. LOL! I'm an aspiring new artist climbing the ladder. I have a powerful team of professionals behind me, from Roy "Royalty" Hamilton as my producer, to Diane Duff as my exec producer and manager and TC Thompkins as my marketing genius, you just can't do any better than that. I'm grateful to all the romance fans, authors and publishers.

RC: How can admirers find out more about you? Where can we find/request/buy your music?

LENNELL: You can contact me through my websites, www.lennell.net, http://www.myspace.com/mrromance2004 Or for booking information and public appearances, you can contact my manager, MrRomanceInLA@aol.com

My music is available for download online and will hit the record stores soon. Listen for it on radio stations in your area and be sure to call in.

Thanks Rowena, it's an honor to have this time with you. Love and peace, Lennell

It's been cool talking with you, Lennell.
I'm definitely going to check out 98.7 The Beat - 304.344.9870

The universe isn't what it used to be. With the new alliance between the Triad and the United Coalition, Captain Tasha "Sass" Sebastian finds herself serving under her former nemesis, bio-cybe Admiral Branden Kel-Paten — and doing her best to hide a deadly past. But when an injured mercenary falls into their hands, her efforts may be wasted ...

Wanted rebel Jace Serafino has information that could expose all of Sass's secrets, tear the fragile Alliance apart — and end Sass's career if Kel-Paten discovers them. But the bio-cybe has something to hide as well, something once thought impossible for his kind to possess: feelings...for Sass. Soon it's clear that their prisoner could bring down everything they once believed was worth dying for — and everything they now have to live for...

space It was a familiar dream and one that always left him with an empty ache upon awakening. He fought the rise in consciousness and held more tightly on to his fantasy, taking in the sandalwood scent of her hair, so soft against his face. And the warmth of her body, so neatly fitted against his. In his dream she sighed, arching her back, and her round bottom pressing against him caused an immediate reaction of heat and hardness. He groaned her name, drawing her closer, his hand finding the swell of her breasts as he did so. His thumb found a gap in the fabric of her uniform and his fingers slipped inside...

spaceShe stirred, let out a ragged breath as one finger traced that taut peak, and he didn't know if it was the sound of her pleasure or the ever-present yellow data readout across his mind that alerted him to the chance that this might not be a dream:

space Tactile Data Input—Subject female humanoid—approximately age: mid 30s—body temperature 98.6—respiration fast—metabolic rate normal—

spaceSweet holy gods. Kel-Paten's eyes flew open. In his field of vision was a tangle of short, pale hair and an immense black starfield. And not another ship in sight. Their mysterious attackers hadn't followed them through the gate, though he'd double check that once he got ship's systems back online.

space "Tasha." He said her name softly, remembering the bastard pirate's comment about Tasha's "mean right hook." A telepath. A Nasyry telepath—something that should have been in Serafino's file and wasn't, he realized with a start. An error or a deliberate omission? He'd ponder that later. Right now he was more bothered by the fact that Serafino had easily pulled the fantasy of making love to Tasha from his mind, along with his fear that—with death imminent—he'd never get the chance.

space Yet he didn't feel dead. But he knew if Tasha woke up now and found his hands placed where they were, there'd definitely be that mean right hook to worry about. Still, the intimacy of their position was an opportunity to assure himself of her well-being—since he doubted any of the med panels functioned right now. He opened his hand slowly, let it rest against her chest, and dropped quickly into full 'cybe function, running a cursory med diagnostic on her with the sensors linked through his gloves. No internal injuries and only a slight bruising on her shoulders and back, probably from impacting the viewport. She'd be sore for a while, but nothing more.

space He simultaneously ran his own diagnostics, expecting no damage and finding none. His brief lapse into unconsciousness, and hers, was due no doubt to a sudden drop in air pressure as life support shut off and recycled back on.
He withdrew his hand, letting it come lightly to rest on her hip as she let out a small, "Oh!" and rolled over to face him.

spaceHer eyes fluttered opened. Her face wore a slightly lost expression. "Hey."

space "You okay?"

space She seemed to study him. "Yeah. Must have been a helluva bar fight. Who won?"

space "I think we did." He had the distinct feeling she had no idea who "we" were.

space"Hmpf!" She gave a short, low laugh. "Then the other guys must feel like shit." She sighed, snuggling against his chest.
She definitely had no idea who he was.

space The feel of her pressing so intimately against him destroyed what little restraint he had left. He clasped her to him and was drawing her face up to meet his own when he felt her tensing, her arms stiffening. He knew that she'd just realized who—and what—he was.

space "Bloody damn!" she said.

space "Are you all right?" He tried to make his voice sound as normal as possible, hiding the hard edge of passion in it much better than he was able to hide the hard physical response of his body to hers. He shifted position away from her, let his hand fall from her face to the slick surface of the viewport on which they lay.
She followed the movement. It looked as if they were lying suspended in deep space.

space "Gods!" Tasha sat up abruptly.

space  He pushed himself up, reaching for her as she wavered slightly.

space "Those ships—"

space "I think we lost them. But I won't know more until I get things working." He motioned to the darkened console. The cockpit was bathed in a green glow, casting eerie shadows on the total disarray of cables and floor tiles—floor tiles?—and seat cushions and panel covers and Doctor Fynn's boots—

space "Eden!" Tasha clambered around him onto the instrument panel before sliding to the floor. The CMO was curled peacefully around the base of the pilot's chair.

spaceKel-Paten pushed himself off the viewport and saw a suspiciously damp section of Fynn's shoulder-length hair. He grabbed a med-kit from a nearby panel.

space "Let me take a look," he told Tasha as she searched for the medicorder. He laid his hand flat against Fynn's face and chest, then relayed to Tasha what his diagnostics found.

space "Concussion. No major internal injuries. No broken bones."

space Tasha flicked the scanner on, confirming his words with the unit's data.

space "We briefly lost life support," he told her, seeing the worry and concern on her face even in the dim lighting. "She'll come to shortly."

space Tasha eyes were a little wild. "Okay." She drew a deep breath and nodded in what he understood were her thanks. "Let's get this ship stabilized, make sure we're not in danger. I'll secure her."

space The Galaxus was only slightly skewed. A minor adjustment to her internal gravs—thank the gods that still worked!—fixed the problem, though there were a few strange clanks and thuds.

space Together they moved Fynn from under the chair and arranged the loose chair cushions around her. She stirred slightly. Kel-Paten left her in Sass's care and checked the pilot's console, still worried about their unknown attackers. But scanners were off line. And the viewport showed no other approaching ships.

space "Serafino? Where's—oh, shit!" Tasha grabbed Kel-Paten's arm and dragged him to the back of the cockpit, where Serafino lay under a pile of rubble. "Wait 'til I scan before you move anything."

space He crouched next to her, glanced at the data on the medicorder and then back at the man called Jace Serafino. A Nasyry telepath. A mindsucker with who-knew-what capabilities. He would like to believe Serafino was dead, but his brief glance at the scanner plus his years in combat told him he wasn't going to be that lucky. Serafino was alive. Injured but alive. The man had the proverbial furzel thirteen lives.

space "Only a broken arm, so I think we can move this stuff," Tasha was telling him. She turned unexpectedly, caught the expression on his face before he could mask it.

space "Don't look so damned disappointed that he's alive, Kel-Paten. He just saved your unworthy ass back there."

space  She was defending Serafino—not only defending him, he thought as he carefully moved the debris, but she'd obviously been on Serafino's side even before they boarded the Galaxus. The laser pistol Serafino had pulled was Alliance command issue and Kel-Paten doubted the doctor owned such a weapon. Tasha had ordered Serafino to telepathically scan him, and he had, without hesitation. Tasha knew Serafino was Nasyry.

space He had a thousand questions, including whether Tasha and the U-Cees had known what Serafino was before the mission. But he was equally if not more concerned that Serafino or Fynn had told Tasha about his feelings for her.

space He couldn't forget her comment about selling him as scrap. That, in many ways, told him what he really wanted to know...

TIPS

Top 5 tips from Rowena Cherry's 50 ways to help an author without buying her book. See also Rowena Cherry's 25 ways to help an author in The New Jersey Romance Writers' Heartline Herald.

#1. Help the search engines find her. Why? Even if you know where to find your friend, her blog, and her books, "hits" help. The more visitors the search engine spiders find, the more priority the author's website gets. So: Google her. Ask Jeeves about her. Dogpile her. A9 search her. (That's the Amazon search engine) Try a Yahoo search. Blog search.

#2 If you have read her book: write a customer review. It doesn't have to be long or scholarly. Be as generous with the star rating as you can. Try to be specific about what you liked best about the story or one of the characters. Don't give away the ending. It doesn't matter if some people think that you are friends. More often than not, you became friends because you like and respect each other's talent, or sense of humor, or something you bring to your writing. People do respect recommendations

#3. Instead of quoting Goethe in your sig file, try quoting a line from your friend's or favorite author's blurb in the week of her launch.

#4. If you see an honestly helpful review — on any bookselling site that allows customers and visitors to comment on reviews — click Helpful if it is a helpful review. Votes help both the reviewer and the author (especially the reviewer's rankings ).

#5. If you see your favorite author's books in a supermarket or bookstore:
Facing her books (if there is room, turn one so the cover shows). Tell store personnel how much you like that book, or that the author is local. If you don't see her books, especially when they ought to be there, ask about them. Ask your library to order your friend's book, too.

It's a free program and VERY easy to use.

It will have you download photos first, and music, you can add captions and a voice over over the music......you will need a microphone...

(you have to own the photographs...)

A friend used used istockphoto which the small downloads are like a buck apiece.....

For the music, again you must own it to use it in an advert. My friend uses digital audio worldwide network...and you listen to tracks and download whatever you like....I bought a small one for 30 seconds and then you can loop it.

The ones she did cost her 27 bucks to do....to upload it is free on all the spaces..... youtube will convert it for you to the proper format,

Only smart people can read this. I couldn't believe that I could actually understand what I was reading. The phenomenal power of the human mind, according to a researcher at Cambridge University.

It doesn't matter in what order the letters in a word are, the only important thing is that the first and last letter be in the right place. The rest can be a total mess and you can still read it without a problem.

This is because the human mind doe not read every letter by itself, but the word as a whole. Amazing huh? Yeah, and I always thought spelling was important!

Loved the humour in this sexy Sci Fi book

I haven't read Science Fiction in years and received this book as a present.

The sense of humour in this book totally appeals to me. I liked the story line
and was also happy that there is a Family Tree Page provided. I referred back to
it often, I have problems in remembering names and this is a useful guide to
follow the somewhat involved family history and plot.

It sure is an action packed book and I highly recommend it, I will certainly
read more of Rowena Cherry's books.

A Wonderful Read

Rowena Cherry knows how to tell a story! I've only recently begun reading Sci-Fi and Paranormal books, and this offering has made me an absolute fan. Her characters are delightful, from Djinni [the ultimate tough but gentle heroine]to Prince Tarrant-Arragon [the arrogant alpha male with the tender heart]to the wisecracking 'earthling' advisor, Grievous... plus many more. I read this from cover to cover without a break! You will too, because this is yet another keeper for your shelf.

Bought it, Read it, Loved it!!

I love this book. It's the only book I've read and reread and enjoyed just as much both times. In fact the more familiar I am with it the more I enjoy it! I smile when I think of the story and characters. Very clever, funny and sexy. The main characters, Tarrant-Arragon and Djinni are wonderful, well developed and the changes in them are very real and believable. I really cared about them and their growing relationship. It's a book rich in imagination and the author obviously loves her characters and the world she's created. The background of political intrigue and dynastic rivalry really adds to the tension and is interesting in it's own right. There's nothing quite like handsome alpha males fighting for supremacy and a mate is there? ;-)

I'd recommend it to anyone who likes sexy (very sexy), romantic, intriguing, laugh out loud science fiction. I'm new to reading this genre and I'm so glad I've discovered Rowena Cherry!

Forced Mate is one of the best sci-fi romances I've read

If you like romance and sci-fi action and adventure, this is the book for you. FORCED MATE takes a contemporary woman, highly trained in the defense arts, and pits her against the most powerful (and sexiest) man in all the universe. The passion is palpable and the plot is enthralling.

Forced Mate is one of the best sci-fi romances I've read, and I'll most certainly be buying books from this author again.

By All the Lechers of Antiquity—A Spellbinding Read!!

As a huge fan of sci-fi romance, I feel the world does not have enough of these great, intricately imaginative authors. I search long and hard for books like FORCED MATE and I was grinning from ear to ear by the second chapter! If you have an appreciation for well thought out plots, ones that dare to overstep the boundaries that exist for romances today, then take that flying leap with Rowena Cherry's FORCED MATE. Prepare to literally steep in the intrigue, character conflict, extremely interesting world-building and blazingly hot romance.

Prince Tarrant-Arragon, whose name reminds me instantly of "tyrant" and "arrogant", is in need of a mate. Not any mate will do though—he needs the last fertile female of his people. Djinni-vera, or Jinny a she calls herself, is that last fertile princess. Hidden on Earth for her protection, she is nonetheless ferreted out by Tarrant. Being that she is very sensitive about his reputation, Tarrant decides not to reveal his true identity. He will tame his defiant mate-to-be, but soon he wants more than just her compliance. In an adventure of the heart that takes them from Earth to the oppressive Royal Deserts and the War Star of the inferior An'Koori, Tarrant-Arragon and Djinni-vera will have to come face to face with what makes each other tick. Will what they find out about one another shape their love or tear it apart?

What a spectacular read! I did not like Tarrant-Arragon at first, though I found him vastly amusing. As a future emperor, he had the delusion that everything he wanted would fall at his feet in gratitude. Not so our heroine. Djinni gives our sexy hero a run for his money, and he, in turn, her. It's an interstellar chess match of wit, wooing and many surprises for the both of them. Author Cherry has penned a mind-blowing world in her new series. The attention to detail, the characters, it's all top-notch. I loved the secondary characters too, especially Grievous. Hint, hint, Ms. Cherry! Love to see more of him! Looking forward to your second in this wonderful series.

MATING NET REVIEW BY DEBORAH MACGILLIVRAY

That Rowena Cherry packed so much action into less than 15,000 words is mind-boggling. It's hard enough when you writer Contemporary Romance or Historical Romance - the readers are "used" to these worlds so you don't have to fill in all the spaces. But in Sci-Fi Romance, you are really biting off a major task. Cherry does it and style, originality and deftness that will leave the reader amazed.
