'RHETT, aka Prince Djarrhett

'Rhett, aka Prince Djarrhett is the Saurian Dragon's only son (by his second wife), and is half brother to both Djinni and to Djetth. He is a high ranking Saurian Ambassador, an accomplished swordsman, and a statesman (in other words, neither side can trust him).

'Rhett's first appearance was in Forced Mate. He was a Knight on a mission to discredit and perhaps assassinate a tyrant. Looking out for his wild, elder brother's welfare, he tried to stop Djetthro-Jason from having unwise sex. As a result, he was arrested, imprisoned and threatened with torture and death. Nevertheless, he kept quiet about who he truly is, and risked his life to protect his brother.

In Insufficient Mating Material, 'Rhett was thrown into the role of uneasy co-conspirator with his enemy Tarrant-Arragon after Tarrant-Arragon forcibly marooned Djetth on a tropical island with the slightly overweight and bitchy Princess Martia-Djulia.

Knight's Fork is a quest story, inspired by the Greek myth of Perseus (and the Gorgon) and also by the story of Helen of Troy. The cover harks back to another myth, that of Tantalus who was doomed to be half submerged--up to his neck--in water that he could never drink. It's symbolic of "still waters run deep", and of the chess-like battle between 'Rhett's public image as the virtuous White Knight and his inner Dark Knight.

'Rhett's troubles unfold as he is reluctantly having his fortune told in front of all his family including his grandmother, the Empress Helispeta; his honorary aunt, Tarra, aka the Empress Tarragonia-Marietta...and Electra-Djerroldina's mother; his brother-in-law, Prince Tarrant-Arragon; his half brother, Djetth and new sister-in-law Martia-Djulia, who is Electra's sister.

Things have just gotten interesting (for his tormentors) because there's a naked Queen among his cards–suggesting a sordid sexual fling in his recent past. Then, into the parlour bursts Queen Electra-Djerroldina. Electra has got it into her head that 'Rhett would make the perfect sperm donor, and she won't take no for an answer.
