Rhett and Electra are "between a rock and a hard place" with interfering relatives and political agendas which make for a rollicking story jam-packed with suspense, humor and romantic conflicts. ... I've always heard politics are a chess game and found it intriguing to see it spelled out in this fantasy other-world.

4.5 STARS!
When "forked" a chess player usually has a choice, but it is between two losing propositions. Knowing this, the story takes on an interesting flavor. Like the previous novels in this series, most of the story is filled with plots, counter plots, royal politics, threat of war, et cetera. The big difference between the alien royals in this story and our planet's political leaders is that the Djinn royals have a good reason for it all - survival of the Djinn species. The Human species has only greed in a variety of different forms.
Unlike the previous novels in this series, less time is spent (ahem) physically donating sperm. There are a few heated moments, such as 'Rhett using an apple to learn how to kiss, but most of the story is like watching a chess game, except with more than two players. And I can hardly wait to see what becomes of 'Rhett's half-brother, Devoron, and Prince Thor-quentin. Fantastic!

Knight?s Fork is once more a Futuristic Romance novel from Rowena Cherry that presented me with a balance of humor, sensuality and an interesting storyline. She found the right note in characterization of unique and colorful people, both reoccurring and newly introduced.

You may have read this before on Lurv, but I really do love Ms. Cherry?s sense of humor. Combine that with one of the most unique concepts for a romance series today and we find books like Forced Mate, Insufficient Mating Material, and now, Knight?s Fork as well. Besides being furturistic/scifi romances, they share a chess theme commonality, not only in name, but plot as well. Don?t know anything about chess? Don?t worry ? neither do I. Cherry does a great job explaining the significance of the titles, as well as the chess significance to the overall plots. Beginning with Forced Mate, this is easily a series I remember when making reading suggestions.

Rowena Cherry has a way of creating characters that stand out. Her galaxies are filled to the brim with people who hurt, stumble, and hope for better things. I love the stories, KNIGHT'S FORK included. Fans of political machinations and dry english humor should read them all! You won't be disappointed. Well done, Rowena!

The style, like the author, is properly English, witty and playful with words. As the title implies. ... This is a humorous tease where power throws by Electra?s brother and ?Rhett?s father complicate matters hopelessly. We are talking Galactic power here, and politics is always a consideration.

Knight's Fork by Rowena Cherry is a taut and heady romance story of epic proportions. Move over Helen of Troy and Paris, you've been bested by Rhett and Electra. I recommend this sci-fi romance to anyone who enjoys emotional chess and divining astrological tarot cards. Five stars!

Ms. Cherry's capacity to write complicated plots full of intrigue and stories populated
with characters rich in personality and foibles make her books a delight to read. She also
has a way of turning a phrase that hooks you and never lets go, such as Carpe Scrotum,
Seize Life by the Testicles. How can you not love Rowena Cherry?
..
this is romance at its most tantalizing. There is a happily ever after that is well earned
by the hero and heroine.
. Knight's Fork has substance, intelligence, characters I really cared for and is a
romantic tale with a satisfying HEA. I may not know much about chess but I know a
good book when I read one and Knight's Fork delivers the goods.

One of the hardest things for a writer to do is develop a "voice". It's that unique narrative you 'hear' when you read an author, very similar to a fingerprint, marking that author has
developed their own style. Rowena Cherry has that in spades, and it's spiced with a very special brand of humor, which sets her apart. She is not an author to 'skim' read, but to savor her savvy turn of a phrase and intricate plotting. . I highly recommend Knight's Fork for the reader looking for a book that is fresh, original and provokes a good laugh.

I never laughed so hard in my life at the antics of Tarrant-Arragon and Djarrhett in this book, Knight's Fork. Poor 'Rhett is in a terrible position thanks to Tarrant-Arragon, and it is made even worse by his father's attempts to benefit and manipulate the matter to his own ends.˙Add to that, misunderstandings and meddlesome women, and Rowena Cherry gives us yet another fantastic read!

I just finished reading Knight's Fork. What a wonderful read. The book had everything.
Intrigue, diplomatic dissimulation, misinterpretation of idioms and literary and pop cultural puns, genetics, speciesism, truth and legalism and sexual tension and erotic thoughts and dreams from beginning to end. Oh and of course space travel. What book has ever had more.
Your sense of humor had me laughing every moment I wasn't feeling empathy for Rhett and Electra in a galaxy full of draconian laws and honor.
Fantastic,
Ray
